Open Print Producer allows you to manage all steps of automated production (in effect offering the backbone of a Automated Document Factory capability) from pre-sorting / grouping to postal requirements while managing all known distribution channels. Producer is a centralised workflow and production control tool tracks jobs from data inception through distribution.

Producer automates the document production workflow from the moment the data is available through all the processing, merging, printing, insertion, and delivery stages. Producer automates the reprints, monitors the SLAs, issues alerts when problems arise, monitors devices and operators, and provides management reports.

Operators can use this functionality to configure jobs either to run automatically through some or all production stages, or to require manual initiation of each job stage. Other options for job configuration include:

• Automatic printing on the first available printer with a matching form type


• Grouping of individual print files into single job for more effcient processing and printing


• Storing and display of the file size of each job as a means of checking for duplicate transmissions from the host system

Open Print Producer monitors actual production times against pre-defined service level criteria, giving operators and production manager's early warning of jobs that are failing their production targets with colour coding to indicate and Service Level Warning situations. Quite simply, SLA's are loaded as part o fthe job profile and Producer ensures that the service levels are adhered to. Producer's job processing screen lists all jobs on the system and their statuses in a set of sub screens, which include:

• Processing - all jobs queued for or currently being electronically processed


• Printing - all jobs awaiting, or being, printed, sequenced by Producer's unique job idea


• Printers - showing the same infromtion as the printing sub-screen but sequenced by printer


• Mailing - jobs available for mailing or already staretd on mailers


• Deletion - completed jobs whcih have yet to be deleted from the system
